Gary P. McMinn

 The Revisit to Herschede 1988-1991

Acknowledgments:

The help and cooperation we have received in gathering research information, dedication and historical fact finding mission is accredited to none other than Gary P. McMinn, who worked at the Herschede Hall Clock Company 1970-1984.  Gary was able to clarify much controversy in regards to  Herschede. We found his testimony  and account to be the  most creditable. Without his help and assistance this preservation of Herschede history would not have been possible. 

The Revisit of Herschede

In 1988 four years after the fall of Herschede, a few men, including Gary McMinn, found it in their hearts that they could not allow the Herschede Hall  Clock  Company to die. By 1990 an old furniture factory in Longview, Mississippi was leased and production of clocks would begin. Only a few models would be revived and produced.  However, an anniversary edition  would be introduced to the world, "The Pattern  Model 100".  This would be in honor of the 100 years of the Herschede Hall  Clock  Company. The other two models would be the  "246II The Edinburgh" and the traditional , "294II The Haverford".  To this day it is a subject of conjecture as to exactly how many clocks were produced, and their whereabouts are unknown.

This dedication is in recognition of  his hands  which labored with love in bringing to life the most phenomenal  clocks on the planet.  As a result Gary McMinn  created beauty into art.  You have not been forgotten.

Herschede models being built in Longview Mississippi 1990. Models included Herschede Model 100, Edinburgh 246 II, and Haverford II. These pictures have never been seen before. The whereabouts of these models are unknown, this would be the end of any Herschede models to ever be built.

Dalcraft article Guy Batchelder assisted Gary McMinn in the production of the last Herschede Hall Clocks during the revisit of the Herschede company in 1990 that took place in Longview and Sturgis Mississippi. This would be the end of the line for Herschede clock production.
